Eligibility
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India (or other eligible categories as per Govt. norms).
- Academic Qualification: The candidate must have passed the Matriculation (10th Class) examination or an equivalent from a recognized Board.
đAge Limit
There are typically two age groups for different posts/departments:
- 18 to 25 years
- 18 to 27 years
Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) as per government rules.
đDetailed Syllabus
- Numerical and Mathematical Ability: Integers, HCF & LCM, Decimals & Fractions, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple Interest, Mensuration.
- Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving: Similarities & Differences, Problem-solving & Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual memory, Coding-Decoding.
- General Awareness: Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science, and Environmental studies up to 10th standard. Also includes Current Affairs.
- English Language and Comprehension: Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Reading Comprehension.
âī¸Selection Process
- Step 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE). This is the main written test conducted in two sessions.
- Step 2: PET/PST (For Havaldar Post Only). Candidates who apply for the post of Havaldar and clear the CBE have to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST). This is not required for the MTS post.
- Step 3: Document Verification. Final shortlisting is followed by document verification.

SSC MTS is a General Central Service Group 'C' Non-Gazetted post in Pay Level-1. The in-hand starting salary varies by city. In a metropolitan (X-category) city, it is approximately âš30,000 - âš35,000 per month.

Scoring Pattern: There is **no negative marking** in Session-I. In Session-II, there is a **negative marking of one mark** for each wrong answer.

The results are typically declared within 2 to 3 months after the examination.

The application fee is âš100 for General/OBC male candidates. **Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from fee payment.**
