đAge Limit
Yes, there is an age limit. Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1999 (age relaxation applies for reserved categories).
đDetailed Syllabus
The syllabus is based on the Class XI and XII curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, but the scope is deeper and more comprehensive than JEE Main.
- Physics: Includes topics like General Physics, Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics, with a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding and complex problem-solving.
- Chemistry: Covers Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry. The syllabus is extensive, requiring a deep understanding of reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, and the properties of elements and compounds.
- Mathematics: Includes Algebra, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Vectors. Questions are known for being non-standard and requiring a high degree of analytical skill.
âī¸Selection Process
- Step 1: Qualify in JEE (Main). Be among the top ~2.5 Lakh candidates.
- Step 2: Register and Appear for JEE (Advanced). This consists of two computer-based papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) held on the same day.
- Step 3: Declaration of Results & All India Rank (AIR). Ranks are prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- Step 4: JoSAA Counselling. Candidates who secure a rank participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
đ°Placement & Salary Potential (After B.Tech from IIT)
Placements at top IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras, etc.) are among the best in the world, attracting top global companies.
