- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
- Academic Qualification: Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

- Logical Reasoning: Analytical Reasoning, Linear Arrangements, Number Series, Blood Relationships, Coding & Decoding, Statements & Arguments.
- Language Comprehension: Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary (Synonyms/Antonyms), Para Jumbles, Sentence Correction.
- General Awareness: Static GK (History, Geography, Polity, Science) and Current Affairs (National & International Events, Business, Economy).

- Step 1: CMAT Computer-Based Test. Candidates appear for the single-session online exam.
- Step 2: Scorecard and Merit List. The NTA releases a scorecard with the candidate's score and All India Rank (AIR).
- Step 3: Apply to B-Schools. Candidates must use their CMAT scorecard to apply individually to the various AICTE-approved B-schools that accept CMAT scores.
- Step 4: GD/PI Round. Each participating institute conducts its own selection process, which typically includes Group Discussion (GD), a Written Ability Test (WAT), and a Personal Interview (PI).
