There are two routes to enter the CA Intermediate course:

Clearing the CA Intermediate exam is a major milestone. It signifies that the candidate has acquired a strong working knowledge of accounting, law, and taxation. It is the mandatory bridge to the CA Final level and the gateway to the crucial 3-year Articleship, where theoretical knowledge is converted into practical, professional expertise.
Candidates must first register for the Intermediate course with ICAI through their Self-Service Portal (SSP). After the required study period, they must fill a separate examination form for each attempt.

Scoring Pattern: To pass a group, a candidate must obtain a minimum of **40% marks in each paper** AND a minimum of **50% marks in the aggregate** of that group. There is **negative marking of 0.25 marks** for each wrong answer in the objective (MCQ) part of all papers.
The duration for each of the six papers is 3 hours (180 minutes).
The results are typically declared within 1.5 to 2 months after the last examination date.
The fee structure involves a one-time course registration fee (around âš18,000) and a separate examination fee for each attempt (around âš1,500 for one group or âš2,700 for both). These fees are subject to change by ICAI.
