Eligibility
- Academic: Candidate must have passed the 12th grade examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as subjects.
- Marks: A minimum of 75% aggregate marks in PCM and at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
- English: Must have adequate proficiency in English.
πAge Limit
There is no specific age limit. However, candidates who have passed their 12th grade examination in the current year or the previous year are eligible to apply.
πDetailed Syllabus
The syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum for Class XI and XII.
- Part I: Physics: Units & Measurement, Kinematics, Newtonβs Laws, Work & Energy, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Thermodynamics, Waves, Electrostatics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Modern Physics.
- Part II: Chemistry: States of Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, Biomolecules.
- Part III: English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Analogy, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning.
- Part IV: Mathematics or Biology:
- Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors, Probability.
- Biology (for B.Pharm candidates): Diversity in Living World, Cell Biology, Genetics, Plant & Human Physiology, Ecology.

- Step 1: BITSAT Online Test. Candidates appear for the computer-based online test in one of the two sessions.
- Step 2: Merit List. A merit list is prepared based on the BITSAT score.
- Step 3: Counselling and Iteration. Shortlisted candidates participate in online counselling (or "iterations") for seat allotment in the BITS campuses (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad).
Note: BITS has a unique provision for "Direct Admission" to board toppers of various central and state boards, exempting them from BITSAT.

- Frequency: The BITSAT exam is conducted once a year.
- Sessions: Candidates can appear in one or both of the two sessions offered. The better of the two scores is considered for admission.

Scoring Pattern: +3 marks for every correct answer, -1 mark for every incorrect answer. No marks for unattempted questions.
Bonus Questions: A unique feature! If a candidate answers all 130 questions before the time is up, they can attempt an additional 12 "bonus questions" (4 each from PCM/B) for a chance to increase their score.

The application fee varies based on the number of sessions the candidate opts for. It is typically around βΉ3,400 (for one session) to βΉ5,400 (for two sessions) for male candidates, with a slightly lower fee for female candidates. This is subject to change.

The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes (3 hours). There is no sectional time limit.
